I need to order a part to swap the catalytic converter. 3 ($10) bolts that to hold the muffler and converter together. The couple online diagrams I’ve seen look like this and don’t go into detail to include the bolts I need. 2005 equinox LS FWD 4.3L

I’d also like to look up the price for new bolts to mount to the crossover pipe. There are 2 of those. Those bolts on my metro cost $30 each, which I just used the old ones.

I’ve had the converter since April, plates expire in September, need to get a move on this.

Year/make/model? (I feel like I’m working the counter at Auto Zone...)

If it’s just 3 thru bolts w/ nuts for the 3-bolt flange, can’t you just go to the hardware store & pick out a few that are an appropriate diameter / length?

Yeah sorry, was in the tag, but 2005 chevy equinox, LS FWD...... yes it has air conditioning, why does that matter? I’m asking about exhaust system.....

These have splines that get pressed in or whatever.

The savings I get for doing it myself I’d spend a few extra dollars on hardware so it’s all new.

P/N 15756879 (M10x1.5x40mm). Nuts are prevailing torque, so get 11517996.

I see. I figured there might have been something special about them, or you wouldn’t be asking! Good luck

Not sure I follow. Looks like a downpipe with a cat on it that’s flanged to an I-pipe with a resonator, that’s clamped (?) to the horizontal muffler.

Where on the diagram are the bolts?

if those bolts are as rusted as I’d expect them to be, and you don’t own a oxyacetylene torch and a welder, its probably a good idea to take it to a muffler shop.

The bolts aren’t on the diagram. That’s why I asked for part numbers. The muffler & resonator are one piece, $810. The converter bolts to the muffler pipe with a gasket and 3 bolts. It bolts to the crossover with 2 bolts. And is also flanged. See link above where I bought the converter off amazon for 1/3 list.

Actually I had to replace one of these bolts a few years ago as the gasket failed, and the bolt rusted out. So I’ve kind of been through this before. Bolts weren’t rusted too bad and all threaded off.

Awesome. Thanks!

How about the other 2 bolts the go into the crossover pipe? It all looks accessible from underneath.
